In situ – An exhibition at Glenelly Estate (Opening 30 October 2026)

In situ is an exhibition of oil paintings by Merle de Jager: landscapes which evoke the sense that you have walked into the scene depicted, still, at the precise time of day, and have paused for moment of reflection. The landscapes are exhibited alongside ceramics by Nomabaso Bedeshe, Alila Hofmeyr and Sarah Walters and handblown glass vessels by Liz Lacey.

Join us on Friday, 30 October 2026 from 17h30 in The Vine Bistro at Glenelly Estate, Stellenbosch, for a free glass of Rosé de May while you peruse the art. Curator Julia Meintjes will launch the exhibition and introduce the works at 18h00.

Should you wish to stay on for dinner, chef Christophe Dehosse marks the progression of spring and opening of In situ with a three-course dinner menu, to be served at 19h00. Bookings for the dinner can be made on Dineplan or by contacting The Vine Bistro at 021 808 6444.
